I stepped into an elevator and encountered a fellow resident. He was carrying a hat and some miscellaneous items. In our brief conversation, I inquired about the hat. The man’s demeanor changed drastically as he mentioned it had belonged to his late wife. Overwhelmed with emotion, he explained that he was finally parting with it. Deeply moved, I asked if I could keep it. He kindly handed it over, and I delicately placed it on my head.
